The pendulum hardness tester provides a method for measuring the elasticity and viscoelasticity of coatings. After placing the coating under the pendulum, the swing time of the pendulum is measured to determine the elasticity of the coating. The principle is to support two stainless steel balls on the pendulum hardness tester on the dried coating and swing them at a certain period. If the surface of the coating is softer, the amplitude attenuation of the pendulum will be faster.
