It is very important to measure the wet film thickness of newly applied coatings. On the one hand, the thickness of the wet film affects the coating quality of the product; On the other hand, excessively thick coatings can be very expensive. According to different painting methods, it is recommended to use a comb gauge for measurement. The comb gauge is made of precision stainless steel material, which is durable and reusable. Each comb gauge has metric micrometers as the measurement unit. Five ranges for selection, up to 950um.
Usage
When measuring, press a comb gauge with a range similar to the estimated thickness of the paint film vertically into the wet film. Remove the comb gauge from the wet film.
The thickness of the wet film should be between the shortest tooth wetted by the wet film and the adjacent non wetted tooth.
